Credit Application App

The primary objective was to design a mobile application that would fundamentally transform the credit application process for both new and existing customers. For existing clients, the app needed to provide a simple, secure way to apply for new credit without visiting a branch. For new customers, the goal was even more ambitious: to create a complete, end-to-end digital onboarding and application experience, allowing them to apply for credit—with full biometric verification and a legally binding digital signature—directly from their mobile device.

As the design lead, my role was to architect this seamless digital journey, ensuring it was intuitive, secure, and highly efficient.

Our Process

We adopted a rigorous, user-centric design methodology to tackle the complexities of a fully digital financial product application. Key activities included:

  • Strategic Vision and Research: We facilitated Design Thinking workshops to map out the customer journey, conducted in-depth industry benchmarking and client research, and led user research to define an information architecture that minimized friction.
  • Iterative Design and Visual Direction: We planned and ran a series of iterative design sprints to build and refine the application’s core workflows. During this phase, we developed comprehensive UI guidelines and directed the visual design to create a trustworthy and modern interface.
  • Validation and Quality Control: We conducted thorough usability testing sessions to validate the application flow and ensure ease of use for all target segments. Before hand-off, we performed a meticulous final design QA to guarantee a flawless launch.

Key Achievements

The application successfully met its strategic goals, delivering a powerful and convenient tool that streamlined the credit application process and produced significant business results.

  • Launched a Feature-Rich MVP: We successfully delivered an MVP that enabled existing clients to view their product status and apply for new credit, incorporating secure biometric validation and digital signing capabilities from day one.
  • Drove Significant Growth in Digital Applications: The intuitive mobile experience led to a measurable increase in completed online credit applications within the first quarter post-launch.
  • Improved Conversion and Efficiency: The streamlined process significantly reduced application drop-off rates and cut the average end-to-end approval time, enhancing both customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
