Premier Investment Management Experience

The objective was to design and launch Accendo Bank’s first mobile banking application, specifically tailored for its investment clients. The app had to deliver clear, secure, and powerful investment-management tools to existing clients, foster long-term portfolio retention, and simplify both new-product enrollment and new customer acquisition, all within a fully digital environment that eliminated the need for in-branch support.

As the design lead, I was responsible for shaping the product strategy and guiding the end-to-end design process for this high-stakes digital platform.

Our Process

We executed a rigorous, user-centered design methodology to build a sophisticated yet intuitive application from the ground up. Key activities included:

  • Strategy and Foundation: We facilitated Design Thinking workshops to align stakeholders and define the core vision. This was complemented by extensive industry benchmarking, client research, and user research to synthesize key insights into the specific needs of investment clients.
  • Architecture and Iterative Design: I led the definition of the information architecture to organize complex investment data into a clear and accessible structure. We then planned and ran iterative design sprints to develop and refine the app’s core features and user interface.
  • Systemization and Validation: We established a comprehensive design system and component library to ensure a consistent, premium brand experience and to facilitate future scalability. We conducted numerous usability testing sessions to validate workflows for critical tasks like portfolio monitoring and new investments.
  • Quality Assurance: Before hand-off, we performed a meticulous final design QA to ensure the product met the highest standards of quality, security, and usability.

The result was a powerful, best-in-class mobile application that met all strategic goals, providing Accendo Bank with a robust digital channel to serve its clients.

  • Launched a Feature-Rich MVP: We successfully launched an MVP that empowered clients with real-time investment monitoring, immediate product purchases and renewals, and flexible capital management tools.
  • Enabled Self-Service Product Enrollment: We delivered intuitive self-service tools that streamlined the enrollment process for new investment products, allowing existing clients to easily diversify their portfolios.
  • Created a Fully Digital Onboarding Process: We implemented biometric identity verification and digital contract signing, creating a secure and frictionless experience that significantly accelerated new customer onboarding.
